The Girlfriend Doctor w/ Dr. Anna Cabeca

Apr 21, 2022

In this week’s episode of The Girlfriend Doctor Podcast, we had Bridgit Danner. Bridgit is a certified Functional Diagnostic Practitioner and author. This conversation covered topics such as gut bacteria, immune disorders, and birth defects, and how many of these issues derive from toxic mold levels in the body.

Bridgit’s interest in natural health grew from an interest in protecting the environment. She’s very educated on the environment, so when an environmental illness was developed at her home in Portland, Oregon, and they lost everything in their home due to toxic mold, she knew she had to get to the bottom of this serious issue.

Bridgit covered many ways one can prevent and treat toxic mold levels in the body in this episode but one can truly go in-depth on the subject in her new book, The Ultimate Toxic Mold Recovery Guide.

WHERE TO FIND THE GUEST: Bridgit Danner

MEMORABLE QUOTES:

“I was living in Portland, Oregon in a moldy house that I didn’t know was moldy for probably 8 years before I found out.”

“If people are listening and this is the first time hearing about it, it’s not so uncommon, unfortunately. And since this is a women’s health show, it’s affecting women a lot more than it’s given credit for.”

“Most of these tests are not available, you know, going to your pcp type of thing. You may be able to use your health savings card to pay for them, if you have a card that allows for that, but a lot of people are just paying out of pocket.”

“There’s a great movie, I think it’s called Blackwater, and I highly recommend that. It’s in Delaware. It’s about the runoff from the company making Teflon. And so, it was creating cancers, birth defects, miscarriages, and it’s just a really well-done movie.”

“Just like functional medicine for the body, functional medicine for the home means you find the source.”

“And in the body, I love lymphatic movement. That probably made the most difference to me in healing. So, I love the sauna, dry rushing, Epsom salt baths, coffee enemas, lymphatic massage, rebounding, just getting outside and getting some exercise and getting some sun. Those things really move the needle for me.”
